Like our Expedition Cycling Shorts, the Excursion Cycling Pants are built around the recumbent cyclist - from material selection to pocket placement to 'bent rider-specific features.
These pants are made from the same flexible and durable high-grade polyester blend as our Expedition Shorts. The back of the pants feature reinforced panels for extreme durability and exceptional comfort while cruising on your 'bent. The bottom of the pant legs can be fastened close to the ankle with smartly-placed Velcro fasteners.

Temperatures heating up? These pants feature zippered vents behind the thigh that can be opened to allow improved air circulation for a cooler ride. These pants can also be easily rolled up, fastened below the knee and converted to fully functional cycling shorts as well!

These cycling pants are perfect for wearing together with Bend It Cycling Pursuit or Elite performance shorts but they will give you an incredibly comfortable ride without them as well.  In addition to all these features, the pants look fabulous on or off the bike!

* Vents can be opened on the thigh of the pants to provide extra ventilation
* Pants can be rolled up and secured to convert them to shorts on warm days
* No padding to get in the way of your saddle-free recumbent riding experience
* High-quality, durable, flexible material
* Oversized fit makes them a great match to wear together with Bend It Pursuit or Elite shorts
* Highly reflective logos for added safety
* Ultra-soft inseams
* Pant legs can fasten close to ankles with Velcro fasteners
* Waistband adjusters help you get exactly the right fit
* Recumbent-friendly pocket placement
Designed for temps from 40F to 65F (full length) and 65F+(converted to shorts)

Trike Rider
The Excursion Cycling Pants (ECP) are perfect for the trike rider starting with the Velcro straps around the ankles. The size of the pants fit me as advertised by adjusting the waist line with the Velcro belt. I wear long underwear under the pants if temperatures are under 50F. The ECP are very comfortable just to lounge around during raining non-cycling days. I would recommend these ECP to any trike rider. The ECP did hold up to the high quality I’ve come to expect from BIC.

Mr
Overall, I like these pants. Good for winter riding. Below about 45F, I do wear long underwear underneath. Pockets are very good. Fabric is sturdy. Cut is pretty baggy in the legs and ankles, while being tight in the waist. It seems the sizing might have changed, as these are a size up from the similar shorts I purchased last year, but fit tighter in the waist. The button fastening is an improvement over the previous velcro.

Excursion Pants
These are well designed and functional for the recumbent rider. I wore them on a windy 40 degrees day and they felt great! Plenty of pockets and velcro adjustments in the right place. The material is strong and pliable so they fit comfortable without chaffing. I can fully recommend them!

The best for recumbent cycling
I have been a long time fan of the Expedition shorts and now that I have tried the Excursion pants, these too will be my go to for cool weather recumbent cycling. One note for selecting your size. Pay close attention to the top number in each waist size range as that is the maximum. You can cinch them down, but you can't expand past the max. I have a 32 waist and the mediums (29-32) fit perfect, but if I put on any weight they tend to be tight.

I've worn out a few pairs of these pants. They're are comfortable and fairly durable even when I ride my fat bike in them. I dislike carrying my wallet on the bike so the pockets are quite useful, and venting works great. I sunburn easily, but I can still wear these pants on hot days.
